Power Supply
The voltage range of power source could be given for this circuit board is between 7V and 15V. Higher input voltage will produce more heat at LM7805 voltage regulator. Typical voltage is 12V.Anyhow, LM7805 will still generate some heat at 12V.There are two type of power connector on the circuit board, DC plug ‘Adaptor’ is for AC-DC adaptor and 2510-02 ‘Power’ is for battery source. Normally AC to DC adaptor can be plugged to ‘Adaptor’ type connector. LM7805 (1A maximum) will regulate the given voltage to 5V (Vcc) for supplying power to the PIC16F876A and pull-up the push button (input). The purpose of using diode (D1) is for circuit protection in case the polarity of the power source is incorrect.Capacitor (C5) and capacitor (C1) is use to stabilize the voltage input and output of the LM7805. DS1 is a green LED (small) as power indicator.
Expected Result
At the end of this project, they will be a transmitter that is the remote control and a receiver socket that can connect to any 13A socket electrical appliance. The receiver contains three socket that can be controlled by a remote control. The remote control will control the switch of the receiver socket.
At the remote control transmitter, there will have an increase and decrease button. the increase and decrease button will choose which socket that chosen to be controlled. The LED that light at the remote control will indicate which socket will be ON and OFF.
The receiver part will receive the remote control command either to ON or OFF the socket that have been selected at the remote control.

Problem Statement
There are many strategies and concepts in designing and implementation home automation solution. To control the electric aplliance at home is sometimes trublesome especially to switch on the socket when the devices is used and to turn off the device when finish.If the switch is need to be off, someone must push the switch to off then the device will off. If the switch is far away from the people and he/she are tired to go far to turn off the switch, then the electric device will be leave on. There will be a wasted of electrical energy if the device that unused in still on.
Other than that, to switch off the switch, an operator or someone need to touch the switch to turn the switch on or off. If the user of the switch have a wet hand, the user have the risk to get the electric shock because of the spark that produce when we push the switch at the socket.
From the above statement, this project is develop to overcome the problems that occur with the ordinary switching system. The remote control that capable of controlling the switch will bring a new level of comfort in our life. The house device like air-condiion,heater,fan and light can be ON from a specific distance. The application of this system is numerous and a step closer to usage of controlling intelligent house.

RF module
RF receiver module
These RF receiver modules are very small in dimension. The low cost RF Receiver can be
used to receive RF signal from transmitter at the specific frequency which determined by the product specifications. Super regeneration design ensure sensitive to weak signal. In this project,RF Receiver Modules 315MHz is used.
RF transmitter module
These RF Transmitter Modules are very small in dimension and have a wide operating
voltage range (3V-12V). The low cost RF Transmitter can be used to transmit signal up to100 meters (the antenna design, working environment and supply voltage will seriously impact the effective distance). It is good for short distance, battery power device development. In this project,RF transmitter Modules 315MHz is used.
Wireless Remote Controlled Power Socket
INTRODUCTION
This control socket allows you to turn the power to your appliances and equipment on and off by remote control. Each socket learns the code from the button/channel on the remote control transmitter that assigned to the socket.You can then turn the power supply to any equipment connected to the socket on or off from a distance, just by pressing a button.
This makes it very simple to turn many pieces of equipment off from a single remote control unit. No more excuses for not turning off the TV, stereo, lamps etc. Once turned off they will use no electricity, so no more standby energy is been wasted.So you have complete flexibility. It will work through walls and ceilings up to a certain distance.
This wireless remote control socket also is an electric socket that the switch is controlled by a radio or other signal and does not require an operator to touch the switch. The remote control device, if electrically operated, uses batteries with a low, safe, voltage. Such a switch avoids the risk of electric shock if a user touches a switch with wet hands, and allows switching apparatus from a location without a wired switch.
For this project, we want to control more than one socket using the remote control. A receiver can control about three power socket and mainly controlled by the transmitter for the switching purpose.

The objectives of the project are:

(ii)To avoids the risk of electric shock if a user touches a switch with wet hands, and allows switching apparatus from a location without a wired switch..
(iii)To program the wireless remote control power socket by using MPLAB-IDE software.

Abstract
Many people are worried about their house when they are in distance with their home. They maybe worried about the elcetric equipment in the house. In this project, the Dual Tone Modulation Frequency (DTMF) has been developed to solve the problem in controlling the home appliance from distance. There are some improvement has been made in this project. Regular DTMF system is activating electrical device that only connect or being wired to the DTMF socket. Therefore, this project will make the electrical device that far away from the DTMF can be activated. Thus,this project use a transmitter and receiver to send and receive information to swith On or OFF an electrical device. There are two separate circuit board with a microcontroller (PIC16F876A)each. One board is for transmitter while another is for receiver. Therefore, the main focus is to study the signal transmitter and receiver which are capable of sending sequence of number at regular interval in DTMF format to swith ON or OFF various electrical devices.

Block diagram of remote controller system.
The main principle of offered system operation has been shown above. The central unit of this system is PIC based remote control circuit which will be called as controller. This controller detects the number of ringing, then decodes DTMF signal and then checks pin numbers which are entered. When the pin numbers have been entered correctly, the controller gives to right to control devices. Both pin numbers and orders to control appliance have been transmitted via telephone line or electromagnetic waves as DTMF signal.
